My Autumn Baby Girl

The day before this tiny appeared, we decided to go to a Third Day concert at the fair.  We walked and walked and walked...no wonder she came the next day!  The next day we met Daddy for a picnic lunch and he left his keys in the van.  He called me and we'd already made it home, but I said I would head back that way.  As we drove, I had to pull off Yale into a subdivision so I could stop for the contractions.  I had to stop many times on the way there and rushed back home.  I made dinner for the kiddos and lay down on the couch because the contractions were intense.  I called Andy and he came home pretty soon after that.  He asked me if he should call Ruth, but I wasn't sure.  This was my first truly natural delivery and the pain just wasn't that bad.  It was MUCH worse when I was induced with Mr C.  He decided to be on the safe side {go figure, ha} and call her.  She sent over a doula to check me and I was dialated to an eight {of a possible ten...yeah}.  She called Ruth and told her to get to our home as fast as possible.  The man with the delivery tub came and tried to set up, but I was too far along.  Our little Eliza was making her way.  I labored on the bed on my left side for three or four contractions before I said that I needed to stand up.  Andy took one arm and my Mom took the other while I squatted and delivered Eliza into this world.  She was my face up little soldier and was a little stubborn coming out.  To this day she doesn't say, do, or even think anything she doesn't want to!  I love my little independent spirit!
